FAQs

What font is best for a funeral programme?

A calm, readable serif such as Cormorant Garamond, EB Garamond or Libre Baskerville for the text, with a gentle script for the name if you like. Keep body text at 11 point or larger so older guests can read it easily.

Should I use a script font for a memorial card?

A script can work beautifully for the name, but set the dates, readings and service details in a clear serif so everything stays easy to read.

Are these funeral fonts free to use?

Yes. Every free font on Typesay is open licence, so you can use them for printed programmes, memorial cards and work you do for families, including paid design work.

Which fonts feel respectful rather than decorative?

Classic book serifs and quiet sans serifs with even strokes. Avoid heavy display faces, playful rounded fonts and anything with lots of flourishes.
