Before you start: unzip the download
Fonts from Typesay arrive as a zip file. Double click it (Mac) or right click and choose Extract all (Windows). Inside you will find font files ending in .ttf or .otf, plus the licence. You install the .ttf or .otf files.
Install a font on Windows 10 and 11
- Open the unzipped folder.
- Select all the .ttf or .otf files you want (Ctrl and A selects everything).
- Right click and choose Install. To install for every user on the computer, choose Install for all users.
- Wait a few seconds. The font is now in the Fonts list in Settings, under Personalisation, Fonts.
Install a font on a Mac
- Open the unzipped folder in Finder.
- Double click a .ttf or .otf file. Font Book opens with a preview.
- Click Install. To add a whole family at once, select all the files and drag them into the Font Book window.
- If Font Book shows a warning, click Install Checked once you are happy the files came from a source you trust.
The font is not showing in my app
- Close and reopen the app. Word, Photoshop, Illustrator and most apps only read fonts when they start.
- Canva and other browser tools cannot see installed fonts. Upload the font file inside the tool instead (Canva Pro: Brand Kit, Upload a font).
- Check you installed the font file, not the zip. On Windows, installing from inside a zip silently fails.
- Look under the family name, not the file name. Bold and italic often appear as styles of one font, not separate entries.
Uninstall a font
Windows: open Settings, Personalisation, Fonts, click the font and choose Uninstall. Mac: open Font Book, select the font and press Delete.
